Marble, wood, terrazzo, minimalism – we talk about these and other trends in bathroom design for the coming season.
In addition to global trends such as the search for sustainability, the 2025 pandemic also influenced bathroom design. We began to pay much more attention to warmth and our own comfort. We’ll tell you which ideas you should pay attention to when designing your bathroom in the coming seasons.
Six trendy bathroom design trends for 2025
1. Soft colors
A light, saturated palette gives way to 50 shades of beige. This is one of the design jokes, but today basic colors are at the peak of their relevance.
Among the achromatic basic colors – black and white, a palette of gray, beige and muted pastel tones – all those shades that are easy to find in nature. Slightly more saturated hues mix easily together, and a neutral base balances any contrast.
The desire for a quiet stopover is easily explained – it is comfort, rest for the eyes and relaxation. And it was these criteria that became the most important when designing the house during the pandemic.
2. Natural textures and materials
This trend can hardly be described as new, but it will certainly not lose its relevance in the coming years. Only the degree of nature’s influence on design changes.
- To decorate the interior in accordance with this trend, it is easiest to use decor – these are potted plants that are not afraid of the dark, textiles such as linen and cotton, decorative dried flowers, for example pampas, lagurus or driftwood.
- There are more complex variations in decoration. These can be designer tiles with a stone look, porcelain stoneware with a marble look, stone or wood paneling on the wall.
- Wallpaper for the bathroom is becoming more and more relevant. Look for crafts with patterns such as eco-style, greenery and flowers. This technique is suitable for a large room with a dry area at the entrance. And in small rooms it is better to get a more minimalist design in the form of paint and tiles.
3. Terrazzo
The mosaic, which is interspersed with stones, does not lose ground either. And designers are unlikely to abandon it in the near future. A wide variety of colors and textures speaks for the material. We recommend that you take a closer look at the mosaic with small inclusions, especially for decorating a small room.
Tiles are relevant not only for the decoration of the floor and walls, but also for the design of the countertop, bathroom, bathroom and even the sink. Terrazzo can be used in almost any style: from classic to minimalist. It’s just a combination of materials and the relevance of the design itself. But we’ll talk about it in the next paragraph.
4. Minimalism as a trend in bathroom design
The year 2025 has shown that interiors with lots of details and decorations quickly become boring. Therefore, the designer course is about minimalism. That’s not to say that all styles fade into the background, no. But decorating, finishing and furniture options are now dictated by this global trend.
An eco-friendly direction, a brutal loft, Scandinavian and modern design remain relevant. But now they are not in their pure form. There are fewer details and patterns, and the emphasis is on textures, shapes and materials. It turns out a kind of mix of styles, so at first glance it is difficult to understand which one is presented more brilliantly here.
5. Exquisite shapes
If we talk about a design approach, then fancy sinks and bathtubs are in trend. Both these and others are rarely integrated into niches or dressing tables today. A novelty is becoming increasingly noticeable in the projects: free-standing basins and sinks on the worktop. Such products look much more interesting than the usual factory models. In a large room, you can also place a bath in the west, by the window or in the center.
The installation itself changes. Shiny faience is found less and less (only if it fits the scale), people prefer natural materials and more interesting shapes. Cast iron products are suitable for classic interiors, and concrete and stone products for modern interiors. Soft smooth lines that transform into geometric cup or rectangular shapes.
We should also say about the mixers. Brass is still in fashion because the classic style is not complete without it. But in modern designs, designers often choose matte black, white or even mixer. Next – simple linear shapes, without special decor and ruffles.
6. Open showers
Another solid trend in 2025 is open showers in bathroom design. Implementing this solution is not the easiest; such a renovation must be coordinated. And it’s quite difficult to do it yourself. It is easier to hire a designer to help plan the project.
The main advantage of such a shower, in addition to the stylistic component, is practicality. Unlike a bowl or an ordinary factory cabin, it will not burden the interior of a small bathroom. In large rooms you are not limited in the size of such a shower: it can even be made very large, for example two by two meters.
Inside, the open bathroom is covered with tiles, stone, but moisture-resistant wooden panels, which look especially good in the photo. This solution is not standard, but very effective.
